Software Giants Go Crazy, BIT Mesra 2013 Batch Makes it Large. Incredible Placements Packages for CSE & IT.

I wrote an article about placements at BIT Mesra for 2012 Batch last year and I was amazed at the increase in the package offered to the Freshers. I thought companies had gone insane. But what I did not know was that I will be forced to write another article, regarding the placements of 2013 Batch.

The following information is based on my talks with some of my juniors who have got placed:

Directi selected 5 Students for the package of 20 LPA
Microsoft gave PPO to 2 Interns, a package of 18 LPA
Flipkart selected 4 students for the package of 12.5 LPA
Goldman Sachs selected 4 from CSE for the package of 11 LPA

Recently I got the news that 3 out of 4 students who were shortlisted by Facebook for interview at Delhi have been given offers. I am not aware of the the package offered by Facebook though.

Now there are a few things worth noting:
  1. The placement season has only begun. Its just the 1 month of the 7th Semester.
  2. Many Big-shots (in terms of package offered by them) have not yet visited, e.g., Google, Amazon, Adobe, Oracle. Oracle has different divisions, its Financial Services has visited, and their package was lesser.
  3. Microsoft will be visiting shortly. Microsoft has just given PPO to interns, its visit is scheduled somewhere in August.
  4. Another company called EPIC is scheduled for Campus Placements visit, offering approx 44 LPA Gross Salary for its US Location.
This is a sudden boom in the package, and clearly, a strong fight amongst  the giants. The reason and analysis for which I will post in another article.

  2. How valid is this data ?
I didn't see these information in the official Website yet.
If this is a fact then it's really good. We as alumni should be proud of it.
