Samsung Electronics Reveals Brand New Smart Wearables "Gear S" and "Gear Circle".
Samsung Electronics revealed its wearable device, "Samsung Gear S", on August 28, 2014, before "Samsung Unpacked", which will be held in Berlin, Germany on September 3, 2014. "Samsung Gear S" is Samsung Electronics' sixth wearable product since it introduced its wearable device series through "Galaxy Gear" last year.
Samsung Electronics has popularized wearable devices by introducing a variety of options for the consumers. It gave rise to the open type multi-platform, Tizen-based "Samsung Gear 2" and "Samsung Gear 2 Neo" this year. It also pioneered the first curved display equipped "Samsung Gear Fit," and Android-based "Samsung Gear Live."
"Samsung Gear S" is a wearable device that can be interlocked with a Smartphone and can use 3G and Wi-Fi without a smartphone around.
Messages, calls, and alarm check function without a smartphone "Samsung Gear S" can be interlocked with a Smartphone via Bluetooth and provides convenient mobile experience through 3G and Wi-Fi without a Smartphone nearby.
Users can check the most recent information, use the alarm and other important application push services, such as in-bound messages, SNS, e-mails, and unanswered calls, even though they are not in proximity of their smartphones.
Also, users can send a reply immediately by using the built-in keyboard or voice recognition function, "S Voice" of "Samsung Gear S." Making and receiving calls are possible with it, too.
For example, when you work out without your smartphone, you can check every message that your interlocked smartphone receives and can make or receive calls with "Samsung Gear S."
Maximize its usability, wear comfort and aesthetics through 2.0-inch Curved Super AMOLED display, optimized UI, and replaceable strap.
"Samsung Gear S" provides comfort with its 2.0-inch Curved Super AMOLED display and lets the users immediately check more information on their wrist at the same time.
It also provides an "Enlarged View" function that shows incoming and outgoing messages on a 2.0-inch screen. The optimized font for "Samsung Gear S" increases the number of words displayed on it.
In addition, a variety of UI that utilizes vivid picture quality of Super AMOLED display and replaceable straps of "Samsung Gear S" will enable you to express your personality more.
The strap of "Samsung Gear S" will especially increase usability as a fashion item because it includes a watch type standard strap and a bracelet type strap.
"Samsung Gear S" will be released in black and white. Samsung Electronics plans to sell straps with different colors, such as blue, red, mocha, and grey and to introduce new straps with new designs and materials in cooperation with various partners in the near future.
Strengthen fitness and navigation functionalities in cooperation with global partners "Samsung Gear S" will strengthen its applications that provide the users with unique experiences only for wearable devices in cooperation with various global partners.
Global map producer, Hear, will provide "Samsung Gear S" with a navigation system for pedestrians, while Financial Times and Sprits will provide their news services.
Furthermore, the extended range of applications for "Samsung Gear S" that provide intensified fitness functionality by using various sensors is remarkable.
Samsung Electronics' unique fitness application, "S Health," provides more exact workout management functionality through GPS and a barometer sensor. Users can easily check their heart rate, speed, and moving route via graphs and maps.
In collaboration with sports brand, Nike, the wearable device enables users to manage their fitness, compare the quantity of motion with others' via SNS, check the map, and to play music.
Samsung Electronics also plans to extend the device's usability through its cooperation with many partners, such as Facebook and online shopping service provider, PayPal.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics put out a necklace type wearable device, "Gear Circle," that enables users to conveniently make phone calls and listen to music through Bluetooth with interlocked "Samsung Gear S."
"Gear Circle" provides users with intuitive usability by enabling users to answer calls by simply cutting off the connecting piece of the device, and by receiving a variety of voice information via Gear Manager.
"Samsung Gear S" and "Gear Circle" will be officially introduced to the global media and consumers in "Samsung Unpacked" and will be released in the beginning of October, country by country around the world.
